Plymouth 400 Hosts Low-Numbered Plate Auction

PLYMOUTH – As part of Plymouth’s 400th anniversary celebrations the Commonwealth’s Registry of Motor Vehicles will be making a number of commemorative low-numbered license plates available to the public.

Massachusetts drivers will have the opportunity to secure a coveted low-numbered license plate while also supporting anniversary of one of the most historically significant moments in American history.

“It is the only plate in the state that is 100% devoted to history,” said Brian Logan, Communications Manager for Plymouth 400.

“Of course there’s a lot of options when it comes to specially plates but this one is entirely supporting history,” he said.

The auction includes about 23 plates in total. Several dates of historical significance are also available, including 1824, the year Pilgrim Hall Museum opened, 1863, the year of Abraham Lincoln’s Thanksgiving Proclamation and 1957, the year England gifted the Mayflower II to America.

2020 is also available.

Bidding will remain open through Saturday March 31 through MyPlymouthPlate.org.
