Plymouth County Republicans Back Diehl, Kingston in Straw Poll

PLYMOUTH – A straw poll of Republicans in Plymouth County showed close to even support for two of the three candidates trying to challenge Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren in November.

State Rep. Geoff Diehl (R-Whitman) garnered 83 votes in the Plymouth County Republican Club straw poll. Winchester businessman John Kingston received 79 votes.

Former Romney administration official Beth Lindstrom, the third candidate in the race, picked up 3 votes.

The Massachusetts Republican Convention is set for April 28 in Worcester. Candidates who garner 15 percent support from delegates at the convention will move on to the primary ballot in September.
