PLYMOUTH – Plymouth is hosting its annual celebration of America’s founding and culture this weekend with their weekend before Thanksgiving traditions.
Events kick off tonight with a screening of the movie D-Day Normandy 1944 that is narrated by former news anchor Tom Brokaw.
The event runs from 7-9 p.m. and there is a suggested donation of $10 at the door.
Saturday features the highlight of the weekend: the Thanksgiving Parade.
Festivities begin at 10:30 a.m. with an opening ceremony at Cole’s Hill on Water Street.
The parade steps off at 11 a.m. on Court Street and winds its way down Court and Main Street before coming to an end near Plymouth Rock.
The parade features a chronological walk through the history of the country through custom built floats, equestrian groups, fife and drum corps, and more.
A shuttle service from 11 Lincoln Street to the parade route will running between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Parking will be limited in downtown Plymouth.
Events continue throughout the weekend with a craft beer and wine garden, live entertainment, an outdoor living history museum, and farmer’s market.
