PROVINCETOWN – The 2018 season of the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum begins on Saturday.
The day will feature the Second Annual Spring Celebration Egg Hunt.
Executive Director David Weidner said he’s almost as excited as the kids. “The kids are going to be joining together at Seashore Point for a community breakfast with the bunny. Then they’ll hop up the hill for an egg roll. Visitors are welcome to take a look at our grounds. Our gift shop will be open,” he said.
Children must be accompanied by an adult to participate in the event which starts at 10:30.
The PMPM already has more than 40 events planned for the year, which means there is something for everyone.
Don German, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory Solar System Ambassador, will visit on April 18th and present a star gazing event where he will show attendees how identify constellations and asterisms using binoculars and his high powered telescope. Like many of this year’s happenings, it is free.
A vast array of permanent collections are also to be found at the PMPM, highlighting the history of Provincetown.
Weidner also said a much talked about project will be moving ahead.
“Our Funicular Project, also called the Bradford Access Project, is available for view on our website. We do have an opportunity to create a vertical lift elevator from Bradford Street to provide access to the base of the pilgrim Monument,” he said.
In order to participate in Holly Folly, Christmas and New Year’s First Light celebrations, the PMPM will be extending its season through January 1st.
