Polar Plunges Benefit Local Charities

Polar plungers in Cotuit

COTUIT – Several Cape Cod Charities received funds yesterday after a series of polar plunges on New Year’s Day.

Events were held at Smugglers Beach in Yarmouth for the Friends of Yarmouth & the Council on Aging.

The event at Red River Beach benefited the Harwich PTO and the Cape Wellness Collaborative, Provincetown Harbor’s plunge proceeds went to the Center for Coastal Studies. At Loop Beach in Cotuit donations went to 10 year old Avery Brooks, she is battling Lukemia.

In Sandwich proceeds from the Town Neck Beach event went to benefit Compassionate Care ALS.
