YARMOUTH- The days are numbered for kids on summer vacation and that means back to school shopping.
On Wednesday, August 27, starting at 1 p.m. the Yarmouth, Barnstable, Dennis, Mashpee, Harwich, Eastham and other Cape Cod Police Departments will help some children get what they need to succeed in the classroom.
A group of children will be selected by members of the Police Department’s School Resource Officer Programs and taken to Old Navy in Hyannis to shop for new ‘Back to School’ clothes and supplies with the Police Officers.
Funding for the program is made possible from private donations.
The goal is to give each child $100 to spend on clothing and supplies at Old Navy which will be bolstered by an in-store discount from Old Navy as well as a backpack filled with school supplies.
