Police Investigate Man Found With Head Wound on Main Street Hyannis

KA_Hyannis_Welcome Historic Main street sign_11315HYANNIS – Barnstable police are asking for help from the public as they investigate an incident on Main Street Hyannis early Wednesday morning.

Officers were called to Main Street just west of Yarmouth Road for reports of an unconscious man lying on the sidewalk around 2:20 a.m., according to Barnstable Police Sgt. Sean Sweeney.

The man was found with a serious head wound. It’s believed he may have been hit over the head with a blunt object, possibly a two-by-four.

The victim was medflighted to a Boston hospital, where he is in critical condition.

Police have not identified the man, only saying he is a 20 year old from South Dennis.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Barnstable police.
