Portion of Service Road in Sandwich to be Closed this Week

SANDWICH – Continued gas line installation on Service Road in Sandwich will force the closure of the road Tuesday and Wednesday.

National Grid reports the road will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The closures will be in effect between Mill Road and Noel Henry Drive.

Only local residents will be allowed access to the road.

Those living between Quaker Meetinghouse Road and 175 Service Road are asked to access Service Road from Quaker Meetinghouse Road. Those living between Mill Road and Chase Road are asked to use the Chase Road entrance to Service Road.

The company says the closures could run beyond 5 p.m. each evening if it is necessary to secure the work for the overnight.

National Grid adds that the work will be coordinated with local police and the transportation contractor for Sandwich schools.
