Power Restoration Efforts Could Wrap Up By Tuesday Night

BARNSTABLE – Crews made significant progress Monday in restoring power to many on Cape Cod after Friday’s destructive nor’easter.

Just over 1,000 outages remain on Cape Cod, down from about 10,000 Monday morning. At the height of the storm, just over 100,000 Cape Codders were without power.

Eversource hopes to have all service restored by Tuesday night.

The company has thousands of employees from their three-state service area and private line and tree crew contractors on the job.

“We understand how difficult it can be for customers to be without electricity for this long, and we’re doing everything we can to hit our estimated restoration times,” said Eversource Vice President of Electric Operations Doug Foley. “I’m so appreciative of the thousands of employees and contractors dedicated to this restoration, who are working around the clock to get the lights back on for our customers.”

Officials are reminding residents to stay away from downed power lines and immediately report any fallen wires to 911.
