HYANNIS – If you have champagne wishes and caviar dreams, get to your local lottery agent before the end of the day Saturday.

The Powerball jackpot is an estimated $625 million, the fourth largest jackpot in the game’s history.  The cash option on the prize is an estimated $380.6 million.

Saturday night’s Powerball drawing will be the 25th since the jackpot was last hit December 26, when a $298.3 million jackpot was won on a ticket sold in New York.

The $625 million jackpot is the game’s largest since October 27, when a $687.8 million jackpot was shared by winning tickets sold in Iowa and New York.

“March is Problem Gambling Awareness Month and, as we do throughout the year, we encourage people to keep the experience of playing the Lottery fun by playing responsibly,” said Michael Sweeney, Executive Director of the Massachusetts State Lottery.

Powerball tickets are $2 each and can be played in 44 states.

The jackpot for Friday night’s Mega Millions drawing is an estimated $50 million, while the jackpot for Saturday night’s Megabucks Doubler drawing is an estimated $1 million.
