Steve Morgan and the Kingfish will be one of the bands performing as opening acts at Pops by the Sea.
HYANNIS – Some of Cape Cod’s most popular performers will open the 30th annual Citizens Bank Pops by the Sea concert on August 9.
Steve Morgan and the Kingfish; Cerise Bynoe and the Charlie Jamieson Trio; and the CrabGrass Bluegrass Band will perform on the permanent stage at the Hyannis Village Green prior to the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra taking the main stage at 5 p.m.
Steve Morgan and the Kingfish will kick off the pre-show entertainment when the gates open at 1 p.m., Cerise Bynoe and the Charlie Jamieson Trip will perform at 2 p.m., and the CrabGrass Bluegrass Band will take the stage at 3 p.m.
“Pops by the Sea doesn’t just feature one of the best loved orchestras in the world, but also some of the best loved Cape Cod bands who entertain the waiting audiences all afternoon with a diverse mix of music,” said Arts Foundation Interim Director David Kaplan.
The Citizens Bank Pops by the Sea concert will be held on the Hyannis Village Green and features the only Cape Cod appearance of the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra.
This year’s event features celebrity guest conductors Charlie Gibson, Connie Chung and Maury Povich.
Proceeds from the concert enable the Arts Foundation to fulfill its mission to support, promote, strengthen and celebrate the arts and culture of Cape Cod year-round.
The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod provides artistic, cultural and educational programs in every town on the Cape, with an emphasis on supporting arts education initiatives, individual artists and cultural organizations throughout the year.
