President & CEO of Southcoast Health Expresses Concerns about New GOP Health Bill

NEW BEDFORD – The President and CEO of Southcoast Health is speaking out after Republicans in Washington, D.C. recently passed a new health care bill.

Keith Hovan said that the healthcare company, which operates Tobey Hospital in Wareham, shares the strong concerns that have been expressed by Congressman Bill Keating and Governor Charlie Baker.

He points to the fact that the repeal and replacement of the Affordable Care Act does not take into careful consideration the most important healthcare concerns facing the region and country.

“This legislation was opposed for good reason by a majority of doctors, healthcare providers and by healthcare workers and advocates across America,” said Hovan. “We stand with our congressman, governor and those thoughtful healthcare leaders in opposing the action of the House today.”
