SANDWICH – In the midst of the U.S. presidential election season, a new exhibit at Heritage Museums and Gardens in Sandwich provides a humorous look at presidents of the past.
The exhibit features the work of Taylor Jones, a syndicated political cartoonist for 40 years, who directed cynical gaze upon presidents through caricatures.
The exhibit features 24 U.S. Presidents from George Washington to Herbert Hoover.
Also featured in the exhibit are William Howard Taft, Theodore Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson.
The original series of caricatures was completed in 1982 and was updated to include presidents who served over the last 20 years.
The exhibit is part of “Heritage Highlights”, a series of exhibits that chance throughout the season.
