  • The Candidates
    • Margeaux Weber (D)
      • Margeaux Weber is an attorney, community volunteer, and Chair of the Barnstable School Committee. Margeaux began her community involvement organizing the Centerville Fourth of July parade while her children were in elementary school, and also served as a parent representative to the Centerville Elementary School Council and PTA president before her election to School Committee in 2009. She has served as Chair of the Committee since 2012.
    • Aaron Kanzer (D)
      • Aaron Kanzer is a Democratic candidate for Massachusetts State Representative in the 2nd Barnstable District. He is a life-long resident of the Town of Barnstable, a proud graduate of Barnstable High School, and an appointed committee member of the Barnstable Housing Committee. Aaron is a recent graduate from Northeastern University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Economics & Political Science.

  • The Candidates
    • Matt Patrick (D)
      • Matt was born the first of 10 children in Millstone, New Jersey to his father, a teacher and World War II veteran and his mother, who cared for the children and was mayor of their small town on and off for over 20 years.  He spent most of his time outdoors playing sports, camping and fishing.  Later he played cornerback for his high school football team which led to a scholarship–his only opportunity to attend college–to play at Upsala College, where he majored in Fine Arts.
    • Michael Blanton (D)
      • Michael grew up in the 3rd Barnstable District. My family came to Bourne when his grandfather was stationed at Otis Air Force Base (now Joint Base Cape Cod) and served as a chief master sergeant in air traffic control. His mother graduated from Bourne High School, as did Michael. As a youth, Michael participated in Civil Air Patrol and Boy Scouts at Otis, learned to swim at Monument Beach and worked his way through college as a lifeguard and water safety instructor. It wasn’t Baywatch, but it was a great way to grow up on the Upper Cape. Michael is now raising my son Kai here now, in the hopes that he might enjoy an upbringing like his.

  • Mark Forest (D)
    • Mark Forest is a candidate for Barnstable County Commissioner. He is a long time resident of South Yarmouth, Massachusetts, where he and his wife, Carol live and have raised their family. They have two children, Michael and Patricia, who are graduates of the Dennis-Yarmouth public school system.
  • Mary Pat Flynn (D)
    • Mary Pat Flynn is a former longtime member of the Falmouth Board of Selectmen and currently serves as an incumbent county commissioner.  She has also served in the past as Member and Chair of the Falmouth Economic Development and Industrial Corporation, Member of the Coonamessett River Working Group, and Chairman of the Falmouth Charter Review Committee, President of Historic Highfield.
  • Linda Bond (R)
    • Linda A. Bond has lived on Cape Cod for 10+ years and is dedicated to you and all your various needs and concerns. Linda A. Bond will be travelling all across the 15 Towns of Barnstable County personally meeting with you, the residents and business owners of the county and listening to your concerns.
  • Ron Beaty (R)
    • Ronald R. Beaty, Jr. attended Boston College where he studied Administrative Studies. Beaty Jr. also studied Education technology at Lesley University and has also studied Legal Offiice at the Cape Cod Community College.  Beaty Jr. is a native Cape Codder.

  • Dylan Fernandes (D)
    • Dylan Fernandes is a fourth generation Falmouth resident who grew up on Woods Hole Road. He has worked tirelessly to promote economic opportunity for all Massachusetts residents, ensure strong environmental stewardship, and protect the most vulnerable in our society.
  • Michael Heylin (D)
    • Michael Heylin was born and raised in Falmouth, attended Falmouth Public Schools from kindergarten up until graduating from Falmouth High School in 1998. After attending Worcester Polytech and later Fitchburg State University and graduating with a B.S. in communications and an M.B.A., he spent years traveling the country working for a variety of news/entertainment organizations from CNN to HBO and more.
  • T. Ewell Hopkins
    • As an elected official of the town of Oak Bluffs and declared candidate for state representative, he feel it is important to embrace public feedback. Great communities don’t just happen. They are the result of a series of good decisions made over time by a diverse and committed group of people, all pulling in the same direction.
  • Jessica Lambert
    • She is running for Barnstable, Dukes and Nantucket District State Representative seat for because she believes that a responsive government can improve people’s lives. Once Representative Madden announced that he was not running for reelection, and after consultation with friends and advisers from across the Cape and Islands, she decided to run for the position of State Representative. She realized that her ability to positively affect and improve people’s lives will be even greater across a broader geographic area representing the people of Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, and Falmouth in the State Legislature.
  • Timothy Soverino
    • Timothy M. Soverino has lived on Nantucket his entire life and graduated from Nantucket High School in 1973. He was previously a Nantucket selectmen and spent 30 years as a firefighter and fire alarm superintendent for the Nantucket Fire Department.

  • Jim Crocker (R)
    • Jim Crocker was born and raised on Cape Cod in a large family with his parents and five sisters. He attended public schools and is a graduate of Barnstable High School. Jim’s parents instilled in him the family values that believe that success is achieved through hard work, and in addition, service to the community was expected and honorable. Most importantly, they taught Jim to love Cape Cod and the Islands, to have the courage to stand up for his convictions, and the fight passionately to serve others.
  • Anthony Schiavi (R)
    • Anthony E. Schiavi, moved to Cape Cod in 1992, and is a longtime Harwich resident, who brings exceptional military, business and governmental experience and skills to his campaign for State Senate – from his service as a decorated U.S. Air Force Brigadier General, a former owner of two Cape Cod companies, to his tenure as a Town Manager and Police Commissioner.
  • Julian Cyr (D)
    • Julian Cyr, a lifelong resident of Cape Cod, is a candidate for the Massachusetts State Senate district that represents Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket. Raised in his family’s small business, Julian has built a reputation for effectively advocating for issues important to the Cape & Islands district.
  • Sheila Lyons (D)
    • Public service is part of my DNA. I grew up in a family that knew the lessons of hardship, the benefits of community and family, and the hope that good government and leadership could bring. I also grew up with religious values that inspired us to show the simple virtues of kindness, empathy and helpfulness. And I grew up in a lifelong Democratic culture believing political action was noble and worthy work that could make a real difference in our lives.

  • Mark Alliegro (R)
    • Mark Alliegro is a distinguished scientist, researcher and educator. He is also a family man. Married for 33 years to Mary Anne, also a research scientist and biologist, they have two daughters, Nicole who is in broadcasting, and Kelly a Petty Officer in the United States Navy.
  • Tom O’Malley (R)
    • Tom is a native of South Boston, MA and was educated in area Catholic schools. Joining the Navy in 1968, he served four years on active duty including a one year deployment to South Vietnam during which he was a combat advisor to the South Vietnamese Navy. Additionally, Tom served on three different type ships. Leaving active duty as a Petty Officer 2nd Class in 1972, Tom pursued his degree at Boston State College and the University Of Massachusetts at Boston, graduating with a degree in Political Science and a minor in History, in 1981.
