Propane Tank Explodes, Burning Plympton Man

ambulancePLYMPTON, Mass. (AP) — Fire officials say a Massachusetts man sustained burns all over his body after a propane tank attached to a grill exploded at his home.

The Boston Globe reports firefighters were called to the scene in Plympton around 4:30 p.m. Sunday following reports of the blast.

Fire Chief Warren Borsari says the victim, who wasn’t identified, was walking and talking when first responders arrived. The man was airlifted to a burn center in Boston, where he’s currently recovering. The extent of his injuries is unknown.

Borsari says no other injuries were reported and the flames caused by the explosion did not reach a nearby home.

Fire officials are investigating what caused the incident. No foul play is suspected.
