Province Lands Visitor Center Closing This Weekend

province-landsPROVINCETOWN – The Cape Cod National Seashore’s Province Lands Visitor Center will be closing two weeks earlier this year.

The visitor center in Provincetown will close for the season on Saturday in order to open two weeks earlier in the spring.

Based on visitation trends the National Seashore has decided to re-program the staffing budget to reopen on April 15 instead of May 1.

The center will open early in the spring to coincide with school vacation weeks in New England States.

The center’s observation decks and restroom at the parking lot will remain open year-round.

After the center closes, fire permits for Race Point, Herring Cove, and Head of the Meadow Beaches can be reserved and picked up at the Race Point Ranger Station on Race Point Road.
