Provincetown 400 Represented at State House

BOSTON – An event at the Massachusetts State House brought together cultural councils from both England and the United States, and was attended by Provincetown 400 – the group responsible for planning the celebration to mark the 400th anniversary of the Pilgrim landing in Provincetown in 1620.

Dr. K David Weidner, Executive Director of the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum – who oversees Provincetown 400, met with officials from the Arts Council England and Massachusetts Cultural Council.

Since 2017, Dr. Weidner has also been working on partnership programs with officials from Scrooby, England, where Mayflower Pilgrim William Brewster was from.

Provincetown’s commemoration of the historic landing will take place in September 2020 and will be a week-long celebration that will include a number of signature events and the presence of 1,500 members of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants.
