Provincetown Art Association and Museums Presents Works by Helen Frankenthaler

PROVINCETOWN-  The Provincetown Art Association and Museum will be presenting a new exhibit entitled “Abstract Climates: Helen Frankenthaler in Provincetown.”

This will be one of the largest exhibits in museum history, and will feature the work of Frankenthaler who created the pieces highlighted in Provincetown between 1950 and 1969.

The exhibition includes intimately scaled works Frankenthaler made when studying, as well as large canvases that reference the sea and landscapes of Provincetown.

Photographs, letters, and memorabilia shedding light on the artist’s life will also be on display.

The exhibition will also specially feature by a fully illustrated catalogue, with a foreword by Christine McCarthy, and essays by the exhibitions curators.

PAAM is located at 460 Commercial Street in Provincetown.

The exhibit will be on view from July 6th through September 2, 2018.
