Provincetown Looks for Next Town Manager

PROVINCETOWN -Provincetown selectmen last week discussed the upcoming search process for the town’s next manager.

This comes as former Town Manager David Panagore is moving on to a new position with the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority.

“We are now estimating at timeframe of June to August, to allow both the committee and the search consultant the time in order to do their job,” said Interim Town Manager David Gardner.

Panagore finished his position in Provincetown last month and will be moving into his new position at the MBTA’s chief administrative officer on May 13.

Panagore’s annual salary will be $230,000. He previously made over $160,000 as town manager.

“What we’re doing is we’re balancing, generally, timeliness with a desire to have control over who we’re hiring,” said Gardner.
