PROVINCETOWN – Readers of Travel + Leisure Magazine have voted Provincetown as America’s Top Beach Town.

In this year’s America’s Favorite Places Survey, readers named the town, stating that “a winning trifecta of gorgeous natural scenery, charming architecture and an everyone-is-welcome cultural scene, earned Provincetown top honors.

“Considering everything else we have, our art colony and all of our wonderful unique shops and eateries and art galleries, we just feel it’s a great reason for people to come here for a vacation or at least visit for a day,” said Provincetown Tourism Director Tony Fuccillo.

The magazine previously named Provincetown as one of America’s Quirkiest Towns and one of America’s Most Romantic Destinations.

“We think it’s a great award to receive from a magazine like Travel and Leisure, which is so important in our country,” said Fuccillo.

Provincetown has received a number of accolades this summer, including being named by Trivago as the “Number One Place to Stay in the U.S. in 2016” and one of the “10 Best Small Towns in America” by Smithsonian Magazine.

  1. I love the Anchor Inn in Provincetown, MA. It’s right on the Ocean. The rooms are beautiful and impeccably clean. The service staff are friendly, welcoming and extremely accommodating. My favorite place. I live to sit on the porch and watch all the wonderful people walk by.

    • It is not on the ocean. It is a beachfront on Provincetown Harbor. Technically, the ocean starts at Race Point.

      • Stephen Ross says

Look at a map!. Race point and its beach are in Provincetown. As are all the beaches to the Truro border. You might be better off in Galveston.

      • Call me crazy, but I detect a Townie accent in your comment. I love the way you talk up there….direct without malice. Well maybe just a tinge of malice to set the record strsight for the common good….and I wouldn’t want it any other way. Congrats Ptown! Absolutely the best beach town in America—always has been, always will be.

  2. If you are looking for Arts and Culture, there isn’t a more special place to visit.

I have been going to ptown for 40years. Still love the beauty and the food as well as people watching. However I cannot afford to stay overnight anymore and some of the things that made the town so much fun are missing..

  4. Lobsterboy says

Anchor Inn is on the Bay, not the ocean.

    • Ruth Rogers says

That is not true lobster boy. The Anchor Inn is not on the Cape Cod Bay it is in the province town Harbor

  5. Annemarie Souza says
