PROVINCETOWN – Provincetown police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a figurehead stolen from a residence last night.

The figurehead is between four and five feet tall, is made of fiber glass and depicts a man holding a shield.

The paint has mostly worn off leaving the piece grey in color with remnants of maroon on the body, along with blue and white paint on the shield.

Police said the back is hollowed out and there should be a hole drilled near the bottom where a cable lock would have passed through.

The piece is valued around $400.

Anyone with information is asked to contact officer Kate Catanese of the Provincetown Police Department at (508) 487-7000, extension 332, or by calling the Anonymous Tip Line at (508) 487-2828.
