PROVINCETOWN – The world’s largest all-girl wedding was held in Provincetown on Saturday, setting the record for the largest lesbian wedding and vow renewal.

“Bride Pride” saw 53 couples take part, 25 of whom were married with 28 renewing their vows. The event was held at the Roux Bed and Breakfast.

The owners of the Roux, Allison Baldwin and Ilene Mitnick, came up with the idea when they were planning to renew their vows.

Political humorist and LGBTQ activist Kate Clinton officiated the ceremony.

“It is with great joy that I pronounce and announce that you are married,” Clinton told the couples during the ceremony.

“Its the perfect backdrop for a wedding,” Baldwin said of Provincetown. “We wanted to create an amazing experience at a fraction of the cost of a traditional wedding.”

Organizers were aiming to get 100 couples to get the record verified by the Guinness Book of World Record’s, but fell short of that goal.
