Provincetown to Host 2016 International Coastal Rowing Regatta

Provincetown-High-14-620-65d-for-FBPROVINCETOWN – The Town of Provincetown will be the site of the 2016 International Coastal Rowing Regatta on June 4.

The town is the second U.S. destination to host the competition, following its debut last year in Pensacola, Florida.

“We are excited about hosting this growing sporting event,” said Tony Fuccillo, Provincetown Director of Tourism. “Rowing competitions often take place on the West Coast and this event will now be the first of its kind in the Northeast. We believe it will be a huge success and will encourage the Regatta to return in future years.”

Town officials say that they have East End Harbor sandy beaches to launch and finish, access to the beach for athletes and spectators, and many amenities to accommodate the event.

The Rowing Regatta is open to single and double slide-seat boats.

Mixed doubles and masters-level racing will be included.

FISA-approved boats will be available for participants to try.
