Provincetown Voters Approve Sewer Project, Open Space

PROVINCETOWN – On Monday night, Provincetown voters approved two Land Bank purchases and a $6 million dollar sewer expansion plan that will  increase the town’s wastewater capacity by about 15%.

The sewer project will increase capacity by 155,000  gallons a day and was widely supported. The plan is to get a federal grant of $2 million and borrow the additional $4 million.

Attendees also approved $1 million for a parcel of land known as the Dwyer property near Bradford Street to preserve the five acre site as green space and $1.4 million for property along Commercial Street that will become a park.

Voters rejected a proposal to impose term limits on some town boards.
