PROVINCETOWN – Officials with the Cape Cod National Seashore announced recently that they will reconsider the current regulations regarding kite surfing along seashore grounds.

Previous restrictions in place since 2008 limited kite surfers as to when and where they could perform their hobby.

But superintendent of the seashore George Price said that many hobbyists have since expressed concerns with the rules, stating they are unnecessary.

A public comment period will be open from October 14th to November 14th regarding the appropriateness of reinstating current rules or changing them.

Comments may be mailed to Superintendent, Cape Cod National Seashore, 99 Marconi Site Road, Wellfleet, MA 02667 or submitted via parkplanning.nps.gov/ccnskitesurfing.

An open house on the topic will be held at the Salt Pond Visitor Center on October 26 from 5 to 7 p.m.
