Public Hearing Set For Proposed Sandwich Solar Project

SANDWICH – The public will have the opportunity to weigh in this afternoon on a proposal by the owner of the canal power plant in Sandwich to construct a 10-acre solar project.

NRG Energy hopes to build the 1.5-megawatt array near the plant on a 20-acre plot of land off Tupper Road.

The Cape Cod Commission is holding a public hearing on the matter today at 4:30 at the Sandwich Human Services Building on Quaker Meeting House Road.

The project is subject to the Commission’s Development of Regional Impact procedures.
