Public Meeting in Orleans to Discuss Pay-As-You-Throw Trash Program

ORLEANS – A public meeting will be held next week in Orleans to discuss possible garbage disposal and recycling changes at the transfer station.

The Board of Selectmen and Board of Health are considering “Pay-As-You-Throw” and “Single Stream” recycling programs.

If adopted, both programs would begin May 15, 2020 to coincide with the sale of the annual Transfer Station stickers next spring.

Director of Public Works Tom Daley will explain both programs, the estimated costs and benefits.

There will be a question and answer period following the presentation.

The meeting is Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Town Hall.
