Public Meeting Planned on Brewster Rail Trail Extension

BREWSTER – A public meeting is planned in Brewster next week on the planned extension of the Cape Cod Rail Trail in town.

Officials from the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation and the town will update the public on the final design plan for a multi-use path expanding the rail trail to Cape Cod Bay.

Preliminary designs plans and concepts were presented at a meeting last fall.

The trail would run from the existing Rail Trail near Route 6A and continue to the ocean.

It would be 10 feet wide with a maximum grade of 5 percent to ensure accessibility and provide a safe crossing across 6A.

State officials have said the proposal could help relieve parking pressures at Linnell Landing and Crosby Landing

The meeting is planned for 6:30 p.m. at Brewster Town Hall on Wednesday, June 6
