Public Meeting to Discuss Barnstable Village Streetscape Improvements

BARNSTABLE – A public informational meeting will be held by Barnstable’s Department of Public Works next week to discuss planned roadway improvements in Barnstable Village.

The work between Rendezvous Lane and Millway on Route 6A and along Millway to Barnstable Harbor will improve pedestrian access, traffic safety and aging infrastructure, along with enhancing the streetscape.

The scope of the work includes new sidewalks, landscaping, decorative street lighting, resurfaced pavement, crosswalks, median islands and traffic signal improvements.

The meeting is Wednesday, May 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the Harbor View Conference Room at the County Complex.

Construction is planned to start in the fall and continue through 2019 with breaks during the winter and between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
