Public Meetings Expected this Fall for Bridges, Canal Area Studies

HYANNIS – Public meetings are expected to be held later this fall to discuss two studies focusing on transportation around and over the Cape Cod Canal.

The Army Corps of Engineers is studying the Bourne and Sagamore Bridges to inform a decision on continued maintenance, a major rehabilitation or replacements.

Massachusetts Department of Transportation is also conducting a Cape Cod Canal Transportation Study which will look at improvement alternatives in Bourne and Sandwich ranging from replacing the Bourne Rotary to smaller bike path connections.

More information on the MassDOT study can be found at www.mass.gov/cape-cod-canal-transportation-study.
