HYANNIS – Eileen McNamara, author of “Eunice: The Kennedy that Changed the World” will talk about Eunice Kennedy Shriver’s legacy during a Cape Codder and JFK Museum event this month.
In the book, the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, reveals a woman ahead of her time.
With access to never-before-seen private papers, McNamara creates a vivid portrait of an officious, compassionate, indefatigable, devout, cigar-smoking woman who emerged from her brothers’ shadows and founded the Special Olympics on behalf of millions of children, and adults with intellectual disabilities.
The event gets underway August 2nd at 7:00 pm with a reception being held prior to the talk at the John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum from 5:30pm to 6:30 p.m.
