MASHPEE – A local veteran will receive some needed support thanks to the efforts of a Mashpee school.
Students, staff and friends of the Quashnet School reached its $14,000 goal yesterday for the purchase of a service dog by the non-profit Heroes in Transition, which provides assistance to veterans in need.
The school had been raising the funds since last December.
Heroes in Transition said it will soon be able to give a dog to a veteran.
