Rain Forces Some Changes, Cancellations For Cape Cod Memorial Day Events

KA_Falmouth_veteral memorial library day george w tow flag_111215BARNSTABLE – Today’s forecast has forced event organizers across Cape Cod to make some changes to some Memorial Day observances.

The Town of Barnstable has cancelled the 10 a.m. parade and the 12:15 p.m. ceremony planned for the John F. Kennedy Memorial.

In Dennis, the annual Dennis village parade has been cancelled. Organizers will hold a speaking engagement indoors at the Dennis Senior Center at 10 a.m.

The Wellfleet Memorial Day service has been moved to the Congregational Church on Main Street from the lawn at town hall. Chatham’s Memorial Day ceremony  has been moved to the Community Center at 10 a.m.

In Sandwich, their parade has been cancelled, but a ceremony will still take place at the American Legion Post at 10 a.m.
