Rare White Seal Spotted on Yarmouth Beach

YARMOUTH – A rare sunbather was spotted on a Yarmouth beach Monday, prompting a response by police and the Yarmouth Natural Resources Department.

A person walking in the area saw a white seal pup lying on the sand at Thatcher Beach on South Shore Drive.

Yarmouth Police Officer Al Sprague and Department of Resources Officer Ed Tierney checked out the special visitor and determined everything was fine.

Officials said the seal pup was just taking a break and enjoying the sun.
