BARNSTABLE – Baseball fans on Cape Cod will have a chance to see the three World Series trophies won by the Red Sox since 2004.
The Barnstable Fire Department is hosting a fundraiser for the Relief Fund, which helps local firefighters and their families. The trophies will be on display at the station house in Barnstable Village from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday.
“It’s a nice feeling,” said Fire Captain Chris Beal, who helped organize the event, “you get to see the trophies up close. It’s the actual trophies, they’re not replicas or any of that.”
The department was able to get the trophies for the event with the help of Cape Cod Baseball League President Judy Walden Scarafile.
