Region Braces for Late Winter Nor’easter

HYANNIS – The region is bracing for another Nor’easter this week just before spring arrives.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Cape Cod and the Islands from late Monday night through late Tuesday.

Snow will mix with rain as moderate accumulation is expected with higher totals north and west of the Cape Cod Canal.

A High Wind Watch is also in effect Tuesday with wind gusts up to 60 mph.

The high winds and wet snow could result in power outages.

There is also a potential for minor to moderate coastal flooding during high tides late Tuesday afternoon and around midnight Wednesday.

A Blizzard Watch has been issued for Southern Plymouth and Southern Bristol Counties from late Monday through late Tuesday.
