Regional Wastewater Dollars Headed to Cape Cod

HYANNIS – As part of the latest round of the Commonwealth’s Community Compact Grants, several Cape Cod towns will get a share of nearly $300,000 in regional wastewater funding.

Barnstable, Dennis, Harwich, and Yarmouth will split $150,000 as part of $2 million dollars in announced funding which will benefit 92 communities and eight school districts across Massachusetts

Bourne, Falmouth, Mashpee, Sandwich, and Joint Base Cape Cod were also included in the funding, awarded $140,000.

In announcing the awards Governor Charlie Baker said that it is important for state government to serve as a reliable partner for local communities.

The purpose of the Efficiency and Regionalization competitive grant program is to provide financial support for governmental entities interested in implementing regionalization and other efficiency initiatives that allow for long-term sustainability.

These grants will provide funds for one-time or transition costs for municipalities, regional school districts, regional planning agencies and councils of governments interested in such projects.
