Registration Open for Cape Cod Art Center Youth Programs

BARNSTABLE – Registration is open for the Cape Cod Art Center’s summer youth art program.

Karen Shortsleeve will be teaching studio art classes for ages 5 and older to build self-confidence, cultivate art appreciation and help to find your child’s artistic voice.

“Crazy Mixed Up Media” will explore a wide variety of subjects from robots and rockets to mermaids and sea creatures.

Students will be introduced to famous artists as inspiration for their projects in paint, drawing, collage, and sculpture.

Six weekly classes for ages 5-8 are Tuesdays from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. beginning June 25.

Five weekly classes for ages 8-11 are Thursdays from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. starting June 27.

“Smart Age” classes for ages 8-12 will focus on famous artists, artistic styles and important periods in art ranging from the Renaissance to Impressionism and Abstraction.

The six week class is Wednesdays from 9 to 11 a.m. beginning June 26.
