WELLFLEET – Voters in Wellfleet approved plans to renovate their police station yesterday at town election, a day after the project passed town meeting.
The $7.5 million overhaul was approved 229-99. The project will increase real estate taxes by roughly $119 annually.
The police department will be housed in a temporary facility during construction, which is expected to begin in early 2017.
The renovated station should be completed by September 2018.
