Rental home bookings and prices for the Cape and Islands have held strong, according to Weneedavaction.com.
Bookings for Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket are up 4 percent from the same time last year for the spring, summer and fall.
The website has only seen a 0.6 percent reduction from homeowners original 2014 season pricing.
The usual reduction rate is between 3 and 4 percent for the months of June and July.
Weneedavaction.com has the following recommendations for vacationers still looking for great value:
- The weeks of June 28, July 5 and August 23 are the least popular of the summer and there are more rentals available at lower prices.
- Vacation with extended family or friends to share the cost of a rental property.
- Consider renting lake-front or pond-front property, which will provide the enjoyment of an ocean-front home at a lower price.
- Look at the sites Last-Minute Availability and Deals page, which highlights properties with availability within the next 4 weeks often at discounted rates.
