BOSTON – A member of Cape Cod legislative delegation has been elected as one of the two chairs of the Regional Transit Authority Caucus for the current legislative session.
State Representative Sarah Peake (D-Provincetown) and State Senator Anne Gobi (D-Spencer) were unanimously chosen to chair the caucus.
State Senator Eric Lesser (D-Longmeadow) and State Representative Smitty Pignatelli (D-Lenox) were elected vice-chairs.
Regional Transit Authority’s provide transportation for individuals of all ages outside of Metro-Boston.
“RTAs are the public transportation lifeline for all communities outside of the MBTA service area,” Peake said. “They help improve the quality of life for our seniors, students and everyone in between.”
At the recent meeting, the caucus also discussed the Fiscal Year 2019 funding request for RTAs and the support of an $8 million increase.
