Report on Steamship Authority Delayed Until December

WOODS HOLE – The independent consultant’s report on the Steamship Authority has been delayed until the second week of December.

The report comes after the ferry service had a number of mechanical failures this past spring, along with poor communication that eventually drew anger from Martha’s  Vineyard residents and other travelers.

The Steamship Authority board had a special meeting last week to discuss the report and that’s when they first heard that the report would be delayed.

Although the report by HMS won’t be finished in time for the next Steamship Authority board meeting on Wednesday, it’s expected to be finalized and delivered before the last meeting of the year on December 18th.
