CHATHAM – After strong thunderstorms passed off the coast of the Outer Cape late this morning, researchers tagged the ninth great white shark of the season.
Dr. Greg Skomal, working with the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy, tagged the shark estimated to be around 12 feet long about 1/4 mile off Monomoy.
Researchers are in the final year of a five-year white shark population study.
Thirty sharks were tagged last year.
