Residents in Dennis Elect New Water Commissioner and Approve Tax Increase for Senior Center

DENNIS – Dennis residents voted for a new Water Commissioner and approved a tax increase that funds an expansion of the town’s senior center, at Town Election.

Alan Tuttle was elected as the new commissioner, receiving 967 votes and beating out John Ohman who got 703 and Kent Sargent who received 117.

The $5.5 million senior center expansion passed 1249 to 501.

The project passed at Special Town Meeting in October after a more expensive proposal was rejected by voters in May.

Over 1,800 votes were cast in Town Election, making up 15 percent of the town’s registered voters.
