SANDWICH – The Riverview School in East Sandwich begins its 61st school year Monday and students from around the world will be calling it “home.”

The entire student body will gather for a Convocation Ceremony and Head of School Stewart Miller will welcome them to a year of transformation, growth, learning and adventures.

Students will represent eight countries at the school this year and participate in a special flag ceremony. The countries include Dubai, Bermuda, Germany, Burundi, the Dominican Republic, Singapore, Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.

The school has a long tradition of educating students from foreign countries.

Assisant Head of School Maria Cashdollar says international families come to Riverview for their children to get the best possible learning environment and opportunities.

The Riverview School is an independent, coeducational boarding/day school, provides a caring community for adolescents and young adults with complex language, learning and cognitive challenges.
