Roadwork Scheduled in Hyannis, West Barnstable

BARNSTABLE – The Barnstable Department of Public Works is advising motorists of roadwork that is scheduled to begin this week by the Town and MassDot. Today, the westbound lane of Bearse’s Way will be detoured at Route 28 from 7 am until noon as Massdot conducts roadway improvements. Work is expected to conclude by 12:00.

Tomorrow, Thursday November 1, two projects will begin by the DPW. Paving will be done on Smith Street in Hyannis and traffic will be reduced to one lane. That project is expected to wrap up on Friday. Also planned to begin Thursday is a project to repair drains and pavement repairs on Phinneys Lane and Hyannis Road between Attucks Lane and Route 6A in Barnstable Village. That work is expected to last about a week with the project expected to wrap up on Friday November 9th.

Work on all of the projects is expected to go on from 7-5 weather permitting. Drivers are urged to use alternate routes and plan for delays.
