WAREHAM – A Wareham Fire Department veteran with more than three decades of service under his belt has been confirmed as the department’s next chief.
Captain Matt Rowley was offered the top job by the Wareham Fire District’s Prudential Committee after officials interviewed four finalists in June.
Rowley will take over following the successful completion of contract negotiations with the fire district.
He takes over for former Chief Robert McDuffy who retired from the job last September.
