Ruling Allows Casino Repeal Question on Ballot

gavelBOSTON – A unanimous decision by the Supreme Judicial Court has cleared the path for Massachusetts voters to consider a repeal of the casino gambling law.

The state’s top court today ruled against a 2013 decision by Attorney General Martha Coakley preventing the repeal question from going on the ballot in November.

The casino law calls for three regional resorts across the state. The first license was awarded to MGM Resorts International; they plan to build an eight-hundred million dollar casino in Springfield.
