Sagamore Bridge Project Completed, All Lanes Reopened

SAGAMORE – The Sagamore Bridge work project is done, meaning all travel lanes are open for the first time in a month.

The lane restrictions were picked up Tuesday night after the contractor, Zoppo Corp. of Stoughton, wrapped up the on-bridge portion of the construction project more than 3 weeks ahead of schedule.

The project was scheduled to run until May 23, just days before the start of the busy Memorial Day weekend.

Some off-roadway work is still planned for the next few days, and some of the road work signs in the canal region still need to be removed.

“We thank the traveling public for their understanding and patience during the execution of these necessary repair activities,” the Corps wrote on their Facebook page.

A similar project is planned on the Bourne Bridge after Labor Day. The Corps predicts that work will take more than 80 days between September 6 and November 28.
