Sandwich Cancels Some Events But Parade is Still On

PostponedSANDWICH – The Town of Sandwich’s “Spirit of Sandwich 4th of July Parade will kick off at 10 a.m. as planned. The parade starts and ends at the Wing School. Entry is open to everyone.

The Town of Sandwich’s July 4th events have a revised scheduled due to the weather.

The July 4th three-mile fun run road race is still on. Registration is 8 to 8:15 a.m. The race begins at 8:30 a.m. sharp. The registration fee is a $5 donation. Runners must be 13 years of age or older, unless accompanied by an adult.

The run starts in the parking lot at the Wing School, 33 Water Street in Sandwich.

Road Race T-Shirts are available on race day for a $15.00 donation. Trophies will be awarded for the 1st place overall winners in the men’s and women’s category only.

The first 400 runners will receive a ribbon to commemorate the race.

The following Sandwich July 4 events are cancelled due to the rain forecast: egg toss and picnic in the park with music by Brian Sances Band; Muster events; band concert at Shawme Pond band stand; and the boat parade at Shawme Pond.
